IPT Presentation and Hakaton on TuxCon 2016

On July 9 and 10, 2016 Plovdiv will host the annual event for hardware and software that are free or open source. Admission is free for all and support comes from the company OLIMEX.

Trayan Iliev from IPT – Intellectual Products & Technologies will give a presentation and workshop on the topic Reactive Java Robotics and IoT.

The presentation begins at 11 am on the first day of the conference at Pavilion Kirov (№ 5) of the International Fair Plovdiv.

The workshop was declared from 11 to 13 am in Olimex training building, street “Pravda” № 2.

Presentation introduced functional reactive programming with Java (Java Functional Reactive Programming – FRP) as a modern way to develop high-performance streams that process related / integrated / robotic devices using Spring Reactor, RxJS and Angular 2 libraries. Also included is a demonstration of running reactive hot event streams processing on handwritten created Java robot named IPTPI (using Raspberry Pi 2, quad-core at 900MHz, 1 GB RAM): motor encoders, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, and distance sensor events.

During the Workshop participants will solve specific problems related to reactive programming in Java and JavaScript (TypeScript) on two robot:

1. LeJaRo – LeJOS programmed Java robot

2. IPTPI – RPi2 robot with Ardunio Real-Time Events

The two robots with their creator, recently took part in various technology events such Voxxed Days Bucharest 2016 (Reactive Java Robotics and IoT); jPrime 2016 (Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Sourcing (ES) and Functional Reactive Programming (FRP) using the Reactor and Redux, implemented in Java robotics); BGOUG conference in June 2016 (High Performance Reactive Java).
